Persona 5 Anime TV Series Announced, Coming 2018

Atlus shared the news in a post on Twitter, confirming the series is being created by animation studio A-1 Pictures (Fairy Tail, Sword Art Online) and will debut in 2018. The official Twitter account for Atlus’ Persona franchise announced that the Persona 5 game is getting a television anime series by A-1 Pictures (Persona 4 the Golden Animation, Persona 3 the Movie #3 Falling Down) in 2018. Atlus held “The Attic Meeting Cafe LeBlanc” event in Tokyo on Sunday for the game.



The official website began streaming a teaser promo video for for the anime project on Sunday, which confirms the returning cast from the game, including Jun Fukuyama as the protagonist. (Note: the video on the official website is region-locked to Japan.)

The tagline on the image above read “The world will be stolen by them.”

The latest entry in the Persona role-playing game series shipped for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 in Japan on September 15. The game shipped in North America on April 4 after a delay.

The game featured animation sequences from the Production I.G studio.

The Persona 5 the Animation -The Day Breakers- television anime special by A-1 Pictures aired on September 3. The special recounts the prologue story of the young thief organization at the center of the game. Crunchyroll streamed the television special, and Aniplex of America released it on an import Blu-ray Disc of the Collector’s Edition on February 14.
